hosted a wedding

summer happenings and what's next for Malachi Daily

Hey all 👋

As a reminder, this what to expect from my personal newsletter:

  • 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Thoughts + resources on faith, parenting and family

  • 💼 Business updates + learnings

  • 🗓️ 1ish times a month

Admittedly, this

Today: The (other) wedding, summer happenings, what’s next for Malachi Daily and one thought on building

We hosted my sister’s wedding in our back yard

the theme was garden disco 🪩

In April, I officiated my brother-in-laws wedding. And last month, we hosted my little sister’s wedding on our property (waiting to share more pics until my sister shares first…giving her dibs, as a good brother should)

In the most recent newsletter, I shared a bit about the months of work it took to get the property ready. The day of was no different. It was a blast (and a ton of work).

Don’t think we’ll be hosting other weddings in the near future 😅

Summer is in full swing

Some sweet moments already this summer. Christopher (5.5) and Cali (4.5) are on the swim team Dana swam for as a little girl.

And just last weekend, our team competed against the local pool club I grew up going to every day of every summer (which also happens to be where Dana and I met at a lifeguarding course at the age of 15 🛟). Full circle.

Frog Hollow: where it all began

I also got to volunteer at our church’s Vacation Bible School for the first time. Super grateful I work for myself and got to clear the schedule to do that.

What’s next?

Personally, we’re about to travel to Asheville, NC for Dana’s grandma’s 90th birthday. Then, we have vacation in mid-August with our friends in upstate NY.

On the work front, BetterLetter is holding steady.

We almost started a (seemingly random) local-family business. More on that next time!

Malachi Daily (the thing God led me to start that I wanted to quit multiple times) continues to grow and impact more people.

Organic Google traffic started to pick up last month, which is SWEET. Not banking on that continuing forever though with how fast AI is changing the SEO landscape.

Either way, we’re on pace to hit our goal of 100,000 subscribers by the end of 2025.

The future is still uncertain (isn’t it always?), but what I do know is that we would have been THRILLED if you told us we’d be where we are now.

Grateful for where things are, but in many ways, we are still at the bottom of the mountain.

Lastly, we have a web-based app currently but we’re working on a fully-fledged app (that you’ll be able to download from the app stores) with way more functionality and customization.

Very excited about that - as of now, that should launch sometime in September or October.

One thought on building

With paternity leave and some big personal events, these last few issues have skewed much more personal. I’ll start sharing more in depth stuff on the work front moving forward 🫡

Until next time,

Kieran

P.S. Lucy is fitting in nicely. So far she goes with the flow, smiles a lot and loves her big siblings!
