Today, Iโ€™m sharing 1 idea on family, my new website, and 2 things Iโ€™m consuming.

Family Values ๐Ÿ‘จโ€๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐Ÿ‘งโ€๐Ÿ‘ฆ

One of my takeaways from the Mastermind in Colorado was to finally hammer down our family values.

Hereโ€™s where weโ€™re landing: the acronym C.H.I.L.L.

  • Curious + Creative:

    • We are always learning about God, people and the world.

    • We create more than we consume. And whenever possible, we create together.

  • Hospitality: We named our home Bethany, which means House of Welcome. We bring people into our home, provide a seat at the table, feed them, ask them their stories and invite them into ours.

  • Integrity: We do the right thing. We do what we say we will do.

  • Local: We focus on the good of our direct neighbors and our town.

  • Loving: We love God and each other well. We meet practical needs, sacrifice for others and pray for them in person.

Itโ€™s wet cement at this point, but I think itโ€™s a strong starting point.

Hereโ€™s how we got there. We asked:

  • What natural gifts did God give me, Dana and the kids? Individually and collectively?

  • What makes us unique as a family?

  • Why did God place us on this street in this neighborhood in this town at this time?

What we do in practice (I believe I got this from Blake Smith):

We donโ€™t have this hanging on a wall (yet), but practically, this is what we do.

  • Every night at dinner, we pick 1 family value.

  • We ask everyone to share 1 example of someone in our family demonstrating that value in action from the day.

Even at ages 3 and 4, Christopher and Cali are pretty good at noticing and articulating this stuff. Pretty cool.

Excited to keep building on this.

New Website ๐Ÿ‘€

The end of an era. Officially let my Lenahan Coaching website expire.

My first real business. The bridge into entrepreneurship. Allowed Dana to stop working. Paid for Bethany. ๐Ÿซก

I looked so young

Feels good to have a new personal website that reflects everything Iโ€™m working on right now.

Also feels good to own kieranlenahan.com again.

What Iโ€™m consuming right now ๐Ÿง

  • ๐ŸŽง๏ธ Listening to: Buy Back Your Time by Dan Martell (link)

    • At a point with BetterLetter where I need to free up more time to keep building. Have a part-time employee and are in the process of hiring a FT employee.

  • ๐Ÿ“š๏ธ Reading: Delighting in the Trinity: An Introduction to the Christian Faith (link)

    • What Iโ€™ve realized already: Understanding the Trinity is not for โ€œadvanced Christians.โ€ Itโ€™s way more central to what makes Christianity Christianity than what we all assume. Eye opening book.

Cheers,

p.s. Dana, her mom and Judah went to the Intentional Motherhood Retreat in Bend, Oregon last week. The bigs and I picked them up from the airport and they wanted to get flowers for them ๐Ÿฅน
